DAYS 1–4 Indian Pacific Sydney to Adelaide to Perth

Fly into Sydney and be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to the Indian Pacific railway station to begin your journey to Perth.

DAY 6 Pinnacles Desert, New Norcia and Wildflowers

Lying in the Nambung National Park, the Pinnacles are a breathtaking wonder of nature. These amazing, natural limestone structures hold an exquisite air of mysticism and intrigue, especially as the sun's warm hue illuminates the magical stones. The gorgeous town of New Norcia is renowned for its wonderful Spanish architecture and unique history. Founded by Spanish Benedictine monks in 1847, New Norcia's quaint streets are full of heritage listed buildings, including the beguiling Monastery, where you can still join the monks for prayer. The Western Australian landscape explodes in a kaleidoscope of colour and beauty as thousands of magnificent wildflowers bloom in a spectacular seasonal show of nature at its most breathtaking.

Today we combine the amazing natural wonder of the Pinnacles Desert with the unique living history of the 170 year old Spanish Benedictine enclave of New Norcia. See Guildford and the fertile Swan Valley en route to New Norcia for a special guided tour of Australia's only monastic town, including the monk's shop for some famous New Norcia nut cake and breads. Visit a Wildflower Farm, the lobster fishing village of Cervantes and enjoy a gentle stroll through the mystical limestone pillars of the Pinnacles Desert.

DAY 7 Tour from Perth to Margaret River

Today we start our small-group gourmet tour to the magnificent Margaret River region.  Drive south from Perth stopping at Mandurah for a coffee break, the Bunbury Dolphin Discovery Centre and Busselton, home of the largest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Browse through Vasse Virgin (formerly the Natural Olive Oil Soap Company). Experience a sunset kangaroo safari (October – May) or the sunset scenic tour (June – September).

DAY 8 Discover Margaret River Region

Margaret River is famous for its sensational wineries which produce world-class wines, the region also produces incredible fresh produce and delicacies ranging from delicious truffles to mouth watering crayfish, the region is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty including rugged coastline, great beaches, green rolling hills and towering forests.

Kick start the day at Yahava Koffee Works. The good people at Yahava are passionate about coffee, they will take us through a tasting of their range. This morning we will stop at two cellar doors to sampling some incredible wines from respected and award-winning wineries, followed by a relaxing lunch and cleansing ale at the renowned Cowaramup Brewery.

Enjoy an exclusive wine tasting of Cabernet Sauvignon straight from the barrel at Fermoy Estate, taste cheese at the Margaret River Dairy Company, olive oil at either Olio Bello or Pukara Estate and chocolate from the Margaret River Chocolate Company. In the evening, after tasting and sipping our way around the Margaret River region, we have the evening at your leisure.

DAY 9 Tour from Margaret River to Perth

Today, it is all about getting back to nature as we discover Margaret River’s spectacular natural surrounds. We explore the region’s stunning scenery and remarkable natural and cultural attractions. Sparkling white beaches meet tall tree forests in Margaret River, and Redgate Beach is no exception.

Journey through the tall trees on a scenic drive to Mammoth Cave, one of more than 200 known caves in the region, from Cape Naturaliste in the north to Cape Leeuwin in the south; we venture underground on a guided tour through the Mammoth Cave. Drive through the majestic Boranup Forest and stop at Boranup Gallery showcasing creative wood designs and furniture. Stop at Hamelin Bay to see the spectacular beach of fine white sand, clear blue water and friendly stingrays swimming in the shallows. 

Drive through Augusta with views of the Blackwood River to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. Our guide will show us where the Indian and Southern oceans meet. Enjoy a delicious lunch in Augusta, some free time in Margaret River before making the journey north back to Perth.

DAY 10 Rottnest Island Quokka Day

Rottnest Island is a wonderland of white sand beaches, pristine coral bays, stunning scenery and is a haven for wildlife. Interact with super cute quokkas, the happiest animals on earth, perhaps join the quokka selfie craze. Spot for dolphins, whales, seals and other plentiful marine life. Discover the flora unique to this island. Wonder through the historic settlement, perhaps walk the Wadjemup Trail, hire a cycle or simply enjoy a swim and relax at a choice of 63 beaches and 20 secluded bays.
